This 2 person exhibition, called “Capricious Notions of Recollection”, was shown for the first time at Vincennes University on February 22nd - March 24th. The show looked really wonderful and Leah and I were able to give a lecture on the work and a demonstration on several different photographic transfer processes to the aspiring fine artist of the University.

Leah and I attended Texas Woman’s University together for our graduate degree, and have been “Art Accountability” partners for the past few years. As we talked through our new work together, we noticed a similarity in the concerns for both of our work. Here is a photograph of the show announcement and a photograph of Leah and I at the Shircliff Gallery of Art. A special thanks for Morgan Ford Willingham for all of her hard work to make the exhibition a success!

Once the print is made, the image is transfered onto specialty paper, using a citrus based solvent. The prints have a ghostly process and strange coloration that are enhanced by using colored pencil. Here are a few pictures of this step in the process.

Summer is a wonderful time for catching up on making art, and also updating a website! Don't let the lack of updates fool you, I have been making work through out 2010, but I surely haven't been posting my progress. For a taste of what is ahead, take a look at the photograph I am working on for my next transfer. I will keep a journal entry throughout the process from the initial photograph to the final transfer print.

It is already July and I have 1 new piece almost finished! Hopefully the next few weeks will feel more productive. This new work is about perception, memory, and fragmentation.

Though the last series "Effects" was a nice study in more straight photographic work, I am excited to be working with photographic transfers once again. Below is the first transfer work in progress.
